Soap manufacturers have been releasing some of their best movies on soap, the iPhone and iPod Touch and now there is a movie entitled Lightning arrestor. This movie is based on a real case that was brought to the attention of a jury in March 2021. The movie is eleven minutes long, it is not too long nor is it too short. The plot of the movie is that there are a series of airpods that were charged with the same crime. The first guy to be arrested by the lightning arrestor was released after three hours while the other eight were still being held.

There were two accused in this case that was eventually acquitted. One was cleared of any wrongdoing due to the fact that there had been a power outage that had caused all the charges against them to go out. The other was cleared because there was confusion over who had charged who. The question at the trial was whether or not the officers had enough probable cause to arrest the suspects. The court decided in the affirmative and the accused received a one-year suspended sentence, a fine, and was put on probation.

The movie starts with the thunderstorm that occurs the day before the arraignment. The lightning arrestor was supposed to turn off his or her left airpod but instead set it on fire by intentionally grounding it. There were no injuries to the arresting officers but one of the accused got into an argument with the arresting officer over the way the charge had been handled.

When the arraignment started the prosecution presented its opening arguments and the defense opened with their own opening argument. The prosecution then shifted gears to try to prove their claim that the airpods were tools of a conspiracy to light a fire using compressed air. The prosecution relied on testimony from one of the accused airpods' owners, who stated that the device was used to start the fire. One of the accused started the fire but then ran away as the other two immediately quit. The owner of the airport said he never saw the defendant, nor did he hear the two quit.

The prosecution rested its case after a brief recess. A new witness called by the prosecution called its witness who stated that he did hear one of the defendants admit that he had been using the airport to start the fire. Then the prosecution rested its case and the defense made its closing arguments. The jury deliberated for thirty-five minutes before deliberations began.

After deliberations, the jury voted to convict the three men for accessory charges. All three were given one year in county jail, four months of probation, and were required to pay fines totaling two thousand dollars. The sentences were suspended. Judge Joseph L. Miner III called the verdict "unjust and excessive." He stated that the use of one airport charging device resulted in a fire that destroyed a building, but did not damage anyone else's person or property.
